What's Your Medical History?
On your first visit, you will be expected to give information on your current and past medical history to establish a medical record and help me get a clearer picture of your health as a whole.
What's the Length of Average Appointment?
An acupuncture treatment generally lasts from 30 to 60 minutes, with the needle retention lasting 20-35 minutes. Acupuncture therapy usually involves a series of weekly, biweekly or monthly (tune up) sessions. The frequency of the appointments may vary based on the patient's condition and severity.
What About Needles?
During your treatment, only sterilized, individually wrapped needles are used only once and then discarded. You may feel a brief, sharp sensation when the needle is first inserted, but this occurs infrequently and generally, the procedure is not painful. It is common to feel sensations of warmth, tingling, or a deep sensation of heaviness when the needle accesses Qi. Needles, depending on the treatment, may be gently moved or stimulated with electricity or heat.
Most patients find acupuncture to be a very pleasant and relaxing experience!
